RE:First in television history Alaska Natives and Native Americans minister nationwide on landmark 3 ½ hour television special

Date: April 30, 1999

Contact: Jeanie Greene

A new television program, "We Win, World Evangelism with Indigenous Nations" breaks ground on fourth of July, 1999. A nondenominational association of Native American evangelists, singers and ministers will gather on June 4th and 5th to tape a first ever television special. Three and one half-hours of Christian praise and worship will then be broadcast nationwide on the fourth of July over Sky Angel satellite system. Nationally known Native American and Alaska Native evangelists along side village ministers and singers and other indigenous people, such as the Samoans, will gather to pray for America and stand in the gap for their Native brothers and sisters. The actual broadcast will not take place until the 4th of July. Heartbeat Alaska's Jeanie Greene is the executive producer of this television special and founder of We Win. "It has been prophesied that revival will shoot from Alaska like stars out into the world and Alaska Natives and American Indians are responding to that call."

Dominion Video Satellite's Vice President of Programming, Kathleen Johnson is excited about the broadcast: "Dominion Video Satellite is pleased to be carrying the "We Win" television special this July 4th on the "Sky Angel" satellite system. As one of the longest Native American specials ever to be broadcast in TV history, we consider "We Win" a landmark event in television programming. The Native American community has a rich spiritual heritage and "Sky Angel" is proud to be able to provide a communications platform in which to share it with the world."

In addition to Sky Angel broadcast, producer, Jeanie Greene, says arrangements are under way to air this special on other national and international television networks. In addition to indigenous churches, all local churches are invited to the taping. Audience are asked to arrive at 12:00 noon for the 2:00 taping at First Assembly of God church at 15th and C on June 5th. Volunteers are welcome and Churches who are interested in participating, please call We Win at 563-7503 for volunteer list and to confirm their participation. Participants are encouraged to wear their Native regalia.
