Melody Reed-McMullin

Psalmist / Evangelist

Melody Reed-McMullenAs a little girl I prayed that God would call me in an audible voice just as he did Samuel. In my wildest dreams I would never have imagined that he would answer that prayer even after I had long forgotten it.

Early in my teen years I began to rebel against all that had to do with church, God, and being a Christian. With my parents in the ministry I felt like I was always under constant scrutiny and would never meet other's expectations. Falling prey to the enemy's lies and not having a firm foundation in the Lord I felt hopeless. I attempted suicide and would have been successful were it not for people's prayers and God's divine intervention. Still, instead of turning to God, I ran from him. Leaving home at the tender age of 17. I went searching to fill the emptiness in my soul with all that the world had to offer. The life I began to live was one far from God. For a time my parents did not even know if I were alive or dead.

Desperate to make it on my own and in financial need I turned to a life as an exotic dancer. Alcohol and drugs took me further away from God. It was not until 1994 that God chose to answer the simple prayer; I had made as a little girl.

On a visit to my parent's home in Silverdale, Washington, I could not escape the powerful life changing presence of God. Asleep in a back bedroom of the horne, I was awakened with the voice of God calling me, "Melody, Melody, get up and go to the church". The presence of God was so strong and powerful. In my pajama's I walked from the parsonage to the church where my dad was praying. He was at early morning, prayer. It was there that God met me at the altar and my life has never been the same. I prayed for a ministry and a voice, which God has so powerfully blessed me with. After my encounter with God many incredible things begin happening. I asked God to restore my voice so I could sing for Him. The years of drugs and partying had taken their toll. Glory to God! He not only restored my voice but He has given me over 30 worship sonqs. Everyday He draws me into his presence and closer to Him. He has given me such a passion and fire for the lost that I cannot contain it and will share with whom ever I can. Everyone needs to know of God's wonderful love and mercy. They have to hear about the gospel and how Jesus loves them and can change their life. Everywhere I go I become compelled to share about our Savior. I am so thankful to God. My passion is to see thousands saved, set free, healed, and delivered.

At the present God has brought me to Craig, Alaska Prince of Whales Island. God is moving mightily on the Island and daily I see the His handiwork in people's lives. A new youth center is of great need on the Island is opening doors for this ministry. I give Him all the glory and praise for He is ever faithful.
